Used 5-speed Hard To Shift
I put my new clutch and used 5-speed transmission in today. I started it up and it was really hard to get in gear but eventually budged. I have to double clutch to get it to shift while driving. Could this be because the transmission sat in a warehouse with no fluid in it for over a year? Could it just be stiff from sitting and need some breaking in? The clutch is disengaging fine now, thank God! So it's not because of the clutch. The transmission just seems real stiff.. Any ideas?

Make sure you used the proper fluid, most late model manual transmissions, including yours, use ATF rather than gear oil. If you used the proper lubricant, then it may loosen up with time, but if the synchros are worn, then you will have to keep double clutching.

Did you use the stock shifter? It could be a little rust on the shift rods, It could work it way out.
When I installed my hurst it shifted horribly. After a few hours I decided to put the stock one back in as soon as I had time. 3 days later no more issues and she has work great ever since. I am guess it was either burs on the new shift or rust on the shift rods, My green car sat almost 2 years before I brought it back from the dead.
