Default WS6 Rearend

Hello to all I have a chance to pick up a GU5 G80 rearend used for a good price. I have found some details on this site , what should I look at for a used unit ? Any seals I should change before change out ? The data I found shows it's a 3.23 gear and heavy duty posi unit any inputs ?

got one of these in my 99.

Proiblems you may encounter:

Brakes are different, are these inclused on axle with brake hoses?
3-4 channel ABS/ASR, sensors may not swap/ may need wiring in or a hole drilling in top of axle case for 3 way ABS only sensor on a 4 way rear end (WS6 are usually 4 way)
If you can change seals your self and they look weepy then do it. Mine was a good low milage unit and nothing needed changing, just a bolt in.
Check pinion play if it moves a LOT it might not be any good, you need to compare this with yours

Just curious, but whats the difference between this rear end, and the stock one? I have a 94Z, and it has 3.23 gears and posi already.

Depending on the year it came out of, the style of the LSD and the brakes are different. Other than that, the ABS/TCS (ASR for Camaro) may be different. In the end though it's still a weak 10 bolt...

Thanks to all for the input , I'm gonna pass on the rearend. The build sheet I found shows posi and 3.23 gears. I thought I had a problem with the current rearend it was clunking when put in gear. Found the tranny mount was broken , replaced it and changed diff oil and cover gasket , all seems fine. Will put the $200 towards a Sphon 12 bolt inthe spring.
