Default Rearend help

Friday I am removing a rearend froma 95 Z28 convert.to replace my 99, 3.8 5 speed. Any guess or info on ring gear size of the 95 as to the size of my 99. Also any tricks on removal, seeing its a junkyard rearend, I would like to have everything available before I end up stuck..They wont allow any torches, so I think a sawzall and my tools should be ok.. Any helpful tools that may be needed that any of you guys have found make this job easier. Thanks.

Are rearend problems taboo.....Everytime I post a question about "rear differentials" nobody ever replies...Do we all just know from the trans foward???????????

No it's just many of us don't bother with weak stock 10 bolt rear ends. Plus you only waited about an hour and half for a responce. That z/28 had either a 2.76 or optional 3.23 gear if it is an auto, 6 speed cars all had 3.42's. There might be a tag on the diff, or you can write down the RPO codes,m which should be on the glove box door or a sticker in the door jamb. You hand tools and saws-all should be all you need.

It is considered very rude to hijack threads, start your own in the V6 section.

I have asked rearend ?? many times with little to no response...I figured if I acted a little rude, someone would respond.

The ABS won't work after you swap rears. The new one works on a 4 channel system and the old one works on a 3 channel system. Also, before complaining that no one is helping you, consider what you are asking. Get a repair manual first and read it, and then ask questions if you don't understand something.

On the repair manual...Thanks for nothing chiltions...Man I wentto my library and researched through everybook I could find just to find some specs..and nothing.

Great answer on the ABS...Pete you must be a GM tech or have lots of experience. Again, thanks..
