Now, had you originally said my slave cylinder has only been moving out a half inch, then my mounting ear snapped off, you would have gotten some different responses, like:
Perhaps something is wrong with your pressure plate, and it's jammed. The slave cylinder is trying to push on the clutch fork, but since the pressure plate isn't budging, the hydraulic pressure from the slave pushed it backward and snapped the mounting ear off.
I'd look very closely at the pressure plate, clutch fork, and anything related to what moves. The slave cylinder could be the effect, not the cause of your problem. Since everything is all apart, now would be a real good time to replace the clutch disc and pressure plate anyway. This is what's referred to as "a can of worms".

Hello again, I finally got the cash to buy the clutch parts to replace, since the trans is out. I was literally that broke lol.

Found this clutch set at Autozone, does this look good?

Hey guys, been a while, but finally got more money to buy a new clutch master and slave cylinder.

today, i tried placing the tranny back into place, but it doesnt meet up with the bellhousing, it stays about 1/4 inch from it and doesnt go in anymore.

ive got a new pressure plate and clutch disc, and i know the input shaft is through the clutch disc splines because i put the tranny in gear, and tried to turn the output shaft and it wouldnt move.

so, question is, what in the heck is preventing it from meeting up with the bellhousing? ive greased up the end of the input shaft and the pilot bearing so they would theoretically slide in nice and smooth.

thanks!
