Default Slave Cylinder!!!!!!!

ok so this afternoon I was changing the slave cylinder on my car and just when I was tightening up the last nut, the pin that you screw the nut into, came off. It didn't come off completely but it's loose and I cant tighten the nut, the pin rotates with the nut. What could I do to fix this? Do I have to buy a new piece? or could i get it welded back on? please help me out

Does the pin (stud) screw into the transmission case? If so this may be alittle bit of a problem, definitely fixable though. It is very possible that the threads are damaged in the aluminum trans case. You may be able to buy a longer stud to try and "catch" some more threads or replace the stud with a bolt to do the same thing. You will need to remove the slave for now to better inspect what your up against.

or you could just put a new helicoil in the hole for the stud and that would be an easier fix and the right one

Helicoil is a great thing, google it. You will have to drill/enlarge the bolt hole and tap new threads in it. Then a threaded insert is installed and bingo, you have a new threaded hole. They are sold as a kit with all you need to fix. Hopefully you have enough room to get a drill in that area? Good luck
