You can just get an assortment of caps in the "Help!" section of O'Reilly auto for under $5

Got just about all of the vacuum hookups and stuff done. I was confused about a bit of it, until I realized that a bunch of it was all part of the emissions system I was deleting. So that's pretty much all put together, and I got the PCM, alternator, and serpentine belt all back in as well. So tomorrow comes the radiator, AC condenser, fans, and intake....and running it

Nice to know it's almost all back together. Just take her easy for a while this time. Don't wanna have to go through all that again!

Well if I find a place to store it where I can work on it, I should really replace my leaky timing cover gasket....

I just remembered to ask this while I was scrolling down through. What oil do you run in that? Your lifter valley looked a little dirty...but that may have just been the camera.

If you're talking about the picture of the bolt, that's just the picture. Regardless, the first place I go once it's running is to get the oil changed.

Finally got it all put back together, and started it up for the first time tonight. Here's the result:

LT1 startup - YouTube

I only let it run for the two minutes because I got scared and shut it off. I don't think the oil pressure needle moved the entire time--that is, it was at that position before I started it and well after I shut it back off.

Any thoughts?

Well I think I found my culprit:

Reached my hand around to the back of the engine where the oil pressure sending unit is this morning before work, and found this: the plug is completely severed. No idea how that happened...

If I were to guess, I'd think your oil pressure sensor is broke.

Well I got that figured out now...but is the engine sound in the video due to an oil issue or a valve adjustment issue? Do new hydraulic lifters need some time for oil to work through them?
