O'Reilly didn't have any thread chasers. Going to have to go somewhere else to find that. Also, upon further review this afternoon, the STB and CAI look terrible. I'll repaint them tomorrow. it would sure be nice if I had something I could hang them from and paint them that way.

tonight was one of those "work two hours and accomplish nothing" kind of nights. I can't get the EGR pipe removed because there isn't enough room for a ratchet and I can only get an end wrench on there in such a way that I can't actually turn it. I'm going to need to go to Home Depot to buy a hand saw, the thing I had isn't going to work at all and I have no sawzall (or a place to plug it in even if I did). The AIR fitting on the driver's side header came off easily, but I just about gave myself a hernia trying to get the one on the passenger side loose. I doused it with WD-40 again, so we'll see if that does anything.

I talked a local tuner, and he said a tune would be around $450, but the big thing is that he won't be able to get me in for another couple weeks (everybody else wants their tune done before the Woodward Dream Cruise too). Will EGR and AIR being completely deleted make the car run worse without a tune? i.e., if it's back together and untuned, will it be running well enough to get to the Dream Cruise?

Rainy day, so after watching the USA women's team win gold (), I spent about an hour and a half going to three different hardware/auto supply stores looking for thread chasers and caps for the AIR fittings. Went 0 for 3. Where do you think I could find these? I need the chasers more than the caps.

you can make room by losening the bolts that hold the k member on to drop the motor an inch. would have to support the car by the frame and the k member with jack so you can lower and raise it. nothing wrong with leaving that tube and hooking to intake so long as the egr does not open then it does nothing.

So far I haven't had much luck with Sears either. I'm looking at Summit right now. Is 1/4"-18 the same as 14" NPT?

The EGR valve is completely removed, so I don't have to wonder if it will be open...and I don't think dropping the motor would even help. If it goes down an inch I don't think it would create any space. The big issue is the orientation of the nut. Besides, I think dropping the K-member is a little beyond my capabilities with the tools and workspace I have at my disposal.

that was supposed to be 1/4" NPT. Thanks though, I'll at least be ordering a chaser tomorrow, if not picking one up from somewhere.
