I know the feeling all too well man. the constant frustration sucks and the older I get the less patience I have.

finally got the intake manifold out today. Still haven't gotten those fuel lines off the fuel rail though. Intake mani, throttle body, and valve covers are going to the powdercoater tomorrow.

if you still need help with those fuel lines; push the lines toward the rail connections while pushing the disconnect tools further into the lines, they should then pull right off. It's a little bit counter-intuitive having to give them a push inward while trying to pull them off, but that's what usually works for me. I actually just did a set earlier and had to push in hard on the feed line to get the tool all the way in there and then pull pretty hard to get it to disconnect. The disconnect tools I use are aluminum and are sizes 3/8" and 5/16". I either got them at Pep Boys or Harbor Freight. I've used the plastic tools before and they are usually fine though.

That's exactly what I've been trying that's why it's driving me so insane haha

Here's a peek at what I've done the last few days. Working by my apartment:

Finally got the intake manifold out. Note that I haven't been able to remove the fuel rail or the IAC sensor housing. Haven't gotten to O'Reilly to get metal disconnect tools either.

I've got storage insurance on it now, sort of conceding that it will be a while until it's back on the road. My goal is to have it all back together and running before the Woodward Dream Cruise.

so I just heard from the powdercoater that he can't get the throttle body apart to coat it. What should I get coated instead then? I'm thinking alternator, but then I'd have to take that apart...any other suggestions?

yeah, I know, hence why it's already getting powdercoated haha. The place has a buy one get one free deal, so the original plan was both valve covers, intake, and throttle body. So if the throttle body can't get coated, I need to decide on something else to get done instead (since it's free with the intake). Possibly CAI? I guess I'm more worried about that getting too scratched up on installation and removal.

thermostat cover, brake fluid cover, clutch cylinder cover, if cai is steel then do it. powdercoat does not scrach easy.
