Just bought the X-pipe. It's brand new (yay for other people aborting their projects). Got it for $77.09 shipped. A brand new one straight from Magnaflow costs about $150.

the intake air foils like the "tornado" do not work and are a waste of money. First off they restrict air flow, you dont want that. Next if you have a MAF after the item then the maf will redirect the air through the screen and negate the "tornado effect" Also if you dont have a screened MAF it could disturb quality airflow around the sensor causing false readings, again this is bad. Not only that but once the air gets into the plenum it is all equalized so that all bores get the same air pressure. All the funky "tornado effect" will be lost once again in the plenum which leaves you with a restricted air flow and possibly a erronious MAF reading.

These products can assist a carb engine or a TBI engine by helping atomize the fuel air mixture but it will not help a TPI or SPI engine.

I think we're talking about two different things. I'm talking about one of these:

because the stock throttle body looks like this:

so the airfoil directs air more cleanly into the two valves.

Yea those help and most HP TBs have something like that to assist the air in splitting between the holes smoother.

Great thread Spartan.

Those aerofoils on the throttle body sure look a lot more aerodynamic than the stock throttle body. There must be some improvement in resistance there especially at high air flow.

well I probably won't notice too much immediately after installing it, since I haven't driven it in so long and probably won't drive it much before installing it.

And idk if it's plastic or aluminum, or what brand it is...it was just the cheapest one on ebay lol

so I found a guy who's selling a slightly used (1500 miles) LT4 hot cam with LT4 lifters, comp cams magnum 1.6 rr, and comp cam springs with the cam all for $375. I'm REALLY tempted. Any thoughts?
