1996 Camaro Z28 Project Thread
I feel depressed that it's been more than a month since I've posted any sort of progress so I guess I'll just give a status update.
As I said before, I dropped the car off at the shop to get the exhaust problems taken care of. Well, over Christmas break I called to see how it was coming, and the guy hadn't touched it yet. One of his relatives passed away shortly after I dropped it off, and once the snow hit the shop really got swamped with work. He's doing it off the clock and I won't be driving the thing until May anyway, so I figured I wouldn't pressure him too much. I was just kind of itching to work on it a little bit over Christmas break, I have my SLP cold air intake and my UMI strut tower brace sitting in the back seat waiting to be installed.
I also want to make my engine bay look a little nicer. The silver CAI and STB will help with that. I also want to get one of those throttle body plates, I just haven't decided if I want to go black or polished for that. idk if polished engine bay stuff (like the plate or a radiator shroud) will look good with the silver intake/elbow and silver STB. I want to paint all the black plastic stuff (throttle body cover, cover for the weird throttle/cruise control thing, radiator shroud if I don't go polished) gloss black, like glossy enough to see your reflection.
I think for my next mods I'm gonna start focusing a little more on suspension. I'm thinking KYB AGX shocks and struts, I've heard good reviews from other forums and I've been told they take lowering springs pretty well.

So, what do you guys think of these:

I've been told they take well to lowering springs, and it sounds like they would be good for the little bit of autocross I want to dabble in, while still being good for daily driving.
yeah, I think it was either Evilkal or FD who recommended them. Whoever it was, they said they take to lowering springs pretty well, and I have a set of Summit 1.2-1.5" lowering springs waiting to be installed.
well I found one on ebay for pretty cheap and put in a bid for it, I figure I've spent money on worse
I also found a Magnaflow 2.5" X-pipe for less than $75. I'm probably going to call the shop to see where they're at with the exhaust, and if they aren't that far, I'll probably go ahead an buy it so they can install it. I figure I could probably save myself some money by buying it myself.
