I have 140 Watt Illuminite Speakers in mine, and sound damn good. Probably pick a pair up for around $30-40 on Amazon now (on sale). I have no amp hooked to them, and the after market cd player thumps them.

P.S: The built in LED's on the or pretty cool at night.

I put a pair of Kicker DS65s in my doors about a month ago. They were pretty cheap on eBay, and really easy to install. They do lack bass response, though. I'm trying to decide whether or not I should put a pair of slightly bass-heavy speakers in the sail panels, or replace the fronts again with something a little more balanced.

What, the Kickers? They should fit just fine. Not quite plug and play, but very close. The connectors for the speakers weren't quite the same, but very easy to splice in.

You can use this page (Car Selector) to see what will fit your car. Crutchfield is higher priced than many places, so I don't know that I'd recommend buying from them, but they're a great starting point.
