Default speaker opinions

Hey guys
I want to upgrade all the speakers in my car so I can get better sound quality. I know I have to get a amp with them if i dont replace the HU right away. Does anyone have any suggestions on reasonably priced speakers that sound good and fit in a 2000 camaro ss with the monsoon system.
Thanks

I've always had good luck with rockford stuff, If I still had a radio in my car, thats what they would have in them

RE Audio coaxiles are the best sounding speakers I've heard on stock monsoon units. You can pick them up at SonicElectronix.com for like $40 a set. Don't let the price fool you. I've been doing professional car audio installs for 4 years now and they're right up thee with JL Audio and far surpass kenwood, pioneer, Rockford, hifonics, alpine, and many others. Definitely worth looking into. I recommend their component set if you have a place picked out for tweeters. They'll have more clarity. Pm me if u have questions. I'll post up a link to the speakers in a few for ya

I would use these in the doors:

RE Audio RE6.5C 6-1/2", RE Series 2-Way Component Car Speakers

And these in the sail panels:

RE Audio REX6.5 (REX65) 6-1/2" 2-Way X Coaxial Car Speakers

Wow they went down on price. Now the coaxiles are $30 a set. I actually have them in my sail panels and they sound amazing with an amp behind them. Sound good with stock units too. You could also run the $30 coaxiles in the doors too but like I said, I recommend the components if you want the best sound.

Wow that sounds good thanks chaotic. I looked at them how come the website says they dont fit in the camaro? But also have you ever heard of speakers from CDT? As I was looking around I stumbled onto this company Kee Audio who sells speaker packages for the 4th gen f bodys using that brand, ever heard of them? And what speaker would you recommend for the trunk since i have the monsoon system with 6 speakers

Will these work with a Clarion unit?
DZ555 something, I think.

Looking for pretty much Plug & Play.
Speakers mount to the panel or the sheet metal?
What about the 4 inch speakers in the hatch area?

I wouldn't mess with the trunk speakers. The door speakers and sail panel speakers will be more than enough. As far as the RE Audio speakers fitting, I've had them in my car no problems. Completely plug and play as far as fitment. Also, I've never heard of that brand and I, myself, try to stay away from brands that I'm not familiar with. Do some digging and see what others online have to say about them.

Chaotic, do you need an amp to drive those speakers you recommended?

No they'll run straight from the head unit. They'll be louder and produce more bass if you run them off of an amp but they sound good off of jut an HU too. That's how I ran mine for about a year.
