Yup, fine tooth comb.

We'll get about to peeling up all the weather stripping and re-seating and sealing it off via that thread, then move on to the crankshaft seal and drive shaft

Here's a picture, somewhat.

Father decided to go ahead and just drop the drive shaft out, and drop it off at the machine shop while he's got it torn-down interior wise right now.

Alright, update.

Apparently the bad vibrations aren't gone after all that. That leaves one thing, unfortunately. The rear end.

The way the vibrations are feeling still, it's possibly it's the ring and pinion. The differential is probably on it's way out as well, because my father is saying it's launching hard on the right side, and there's very little power going to the left. Kind of like 1.5 wheel drive in the rear, go kart style.

So, off to a differential shop here in Jacksonville soon.

If I need a new ring and pinion set, :-/, I'll go with a 3.73 gear set, and the differential will just get replaced with a new auburn unit.

I definitely got burned with this one....url

Oh well, it's my problems now.

if you look at the sticky streghtning the 10 bolt 7.5 in in transmision diffrental ,it talks about build it to handle 400hp + for around $500.00 has a parts list there too,my 95 having 2,73 gears that will be huge improvement ,an my plan 3.42 gears ,anything more for me would be like 5 miles to the gallon ,you go up in gear cost more in gas,its talks about the 5 steps to a stronger rearend for around $500.00 ,an for you if you not paying you father then cheaper ,it says includeing labor, you can imagine how weak mine is getting with 100.000 on an an a fresh engine ,I may try to get one more year out of mine an change the fluid an seal

not to buzz your head more this is 98 the with low miles , ,my 3800 needs front end aligned struts too an my 95 was not until about 8 years after I bought it ,but I live with it for now ,you talk about a drink shaker what do you meen ?,some one beat on the car before you ,when I got my 95 with 69.000 it needed nothing the first 8 years other then water pump tires ,that's about it ,the 3800 for me is the one I should have been more careful with ,but runs good<? for the vibrations have you checked the engine mounts an the tranny mount as well

Yeah I got burned pretty good here. Lesson learned, and money will be burned.

The rear end is basically, pardon my french, ****ed.
The differential is destroyed, I've got basically one wheel drive.
The passenger side wheel bearing is all kinds of crunchy and sloppy.
The ring and pinion likely have severe damage as well, which is definitively where the extra vibration is coming from.
The exhaust had an electronic bypass installed, and there's a half assed plate installed in place with 2 out of 3 bolts where it was to keep the mufflers doing their job.
Rear main seal has a leak, though admittedly it is very minor, I still have to mention it. Front main is good, no oil.
Power steering pump is leaking enough to warrant replacement as well, so we're going to play the refurbished gambling game with that.

Wiping the grime off the shocks and springs, its already got Koni STR.T orange shocks on it, though they're worn.
Stock panhard and sways.

It may only have 76k miles, but this was probably 76k miles at 8k RPM the whole way. 8k RPM with drag radials most likely.

Well, I bought it, and I'll deal with it.

At this point I'm hoping there's no spun bearings in the axle, because I've been informed they're basically worth their weight in scrap metal at that point, especially mine.

If the housing is still salvageable, I'm going to do a full rebuild, in an effort to save the ASR functionality for poor weather driving. This will not be a race car for me, as it obviously was for the last guy.

My plan now is to take care
