either that or someone took them apart before and put the spring on backwards.... that way it will slow the window while it goes down.... and still not assist it on its way up. But.... prbly motor. I just had to think about it when putting the spring back on... which was to put it on so it will "help" the window go up.

I have 2000 SS and the driver side window started going up half way then stop I continued to press the switch and nothing. I waited about a minute or so then tried the switch again and the window almost went to the top waited and tried again and the window made it to the top. Not sure if this is the power window motor or the regulator. Anyone had the same symptoms? I also noticed that after the window gets to the top and I hit a bump the front of the window is down about 1/8".

Any help is greatly appreciated.

^ This is a common symptom of the window motor going bad.

As far as the window dropping when you hit a bump... I'm not sure.

Thanks for the response, will be changing out the window motor and need to check on the regulator alignment.
