Have you thought about possibly doing a 3800 swap? or are you set on keeping the good 'ol 3.4?

Just have socom send you his old 3.4 :P

Actually Socom and I have been talking about that. Hopefully I'll have the money for that by the end of August!

without risking ticking you off may I welcome you to the dark side.

You made a very adult decision where you had to weigh reality ( where and what your vehicle is) and the benefits, if any of spending that much just for sound when a rebuild/swap might be in the near future.

We all tend to get emotional about our passions ( I hate the NY Giants) but vehicles are inanimate objects and many of the perceived "negative" comments in this thread were actually grounded in common sense and cost/benefit.

I'd say keep saving your dollars and keep an eye on the car at each oil change. If you can get more miles from the engine then go for it. It's like that oil commercial where change is blowing out of the vents at the passengers and the vehicle is paying back its owner.

I look forward to chaotics......1/4 million mile thread. A fat bank account is much more desirable than a fat sound from the tailpipe
