Default OPTI experts in here.

With the recent drowning of my opti, I was wondering how exactly the opti is vented.

Does the air pump pump air in and then the air goes out a vent hole or does the air pump pump air in and out of the opti. I can't remember how the hoses went into it and I'm trying figure out a way to stop this from happening again without not driving in the rain.

And ideas. I was thinking about just getting a valve cover filter and putting that on the hose that the air pump gets it's air from. But then what about the water that does go into the intake, where would it go?
