Thats kinda what I figured. I can pick up a set of 17x9 American Racing torque thrust less than a year old with 800 miles on them for $500 Do u think it is worth it and how do they look on the car with all that offset

Unless you like the look of a flush faced wheel I dont think that youd be happy with them. Theres gonna be a ridiculous Backspacing on a 9" wheel and 1st Gens just look weird with wheels that have that much offset. by the time you add the cost of good billet spacers Im pretty sure you can find a good set of TT2's properly backspaced for a 1st Gen. a good set of 2" Billet spacers for the others will cost you $150 and Im not sure 2" will even be enough.
heres a staggered set for a total of $700.

and Im no expert, but I'll do till one gets here.

Didn't know you weren't talking about factory wheels, that can change things. You would want to find out what the back-spacing is on those, as not everybody puts on aftermarket wheels with the same b.s. as factory. Even if it was less though, I'm sure it would still be too much to fit your car. The T.T.'s look nice on a first gen, but not so much if they have zero offset. $500 is a pretty good deal, and a quality (non Chinese) set of hub centric wheel adapter spacers will run you between $150-200.

yea, they should be fine. Ive seen 16 x 8 ran with 4 1/2" bs all the way around so I would think youd be good to go. with a 7" width and 4" bs in the front you need to watch for it rubbing on the inside when you turn lock to lock. still shouldnt hurt anything if it does. let us see them when you get them bolted on man.
