A new noise
So, I posted a while back about a certain noise my car was making and changing the fuel filter solved it.
Now I have a noise sometimes when I cold start the car and it's basically this sound:
The starter we have in it makes a clicking sound like that when it starts the engine, but it usually goes away within 1 second of starting.
Now, though, the sound remains for a while sometimes and eventually dissipates. It does this on and off as some days it doesn't occur. I also sometimes notice a very tiny amount of the clicking on occasion when I'm at high RPM as though it is correcting itself out and then it's gone.
Is the starter going bad? Is it one of the pulleys/belt? Should I check the battery?

The video & audio help a lot.
Do you have any shims between the starter & where it bolts up at??
It sure seems to me like a slight shimming of the starter away from the flywheel teeth a few thousandths may be what's needed.
Crabby may want to sound off on this also, but it almost seems like the teeth are meshing to 'deep', leading to a rough engagement & slow disengagement of the drive .
