if you can live without t tops or if your car has t tops then go with the 96, diagnosing problems would be easier, any pics? what are the mileage on each of them? hows the body condition? floorpans rusted? do you know if they run or not? depending if they have same mileage or if the 96 has less miles then go with the 96. If you get it cheap enough, then buy em both so you`ll have a parts car in case of an accident because it seems there arent too many where you are located.

The '96 V6 might have disc brakes for the rear if it was an RS model. I'm not sure if it was available any other way, but somebody else on the board might be able to help with that. My base '96 came with the typical drums in the back.

As for which one to get, I suppose it comes down to mileage and condition, and if you want a 3.4 (1994) or the 3.8 (1996). Good luck on whatever decision you make.

if the car is 1994 v6 it's 3.4 this engine used on any other cars?
and if it's 1996 v6 it had to be 3.8?
what is RS? and what cars used that engine? I remember that the 1996 had rear drums. so it's 3.4? is this lumina engine?

Here's a decent link about the Series 2 and 3 GM 3800 engines. You have to scroll down a bit to get to the info pertaining to the L36 and L67.

Buick V6 engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I hope that helps out.
