Default A/C noise

New guy here. I somehow ended up with a 2001 V6, and I can't figure out what is causing a noise it makes when the AC is off. It makes the noise initially at start up until the AC kicks on, and then when it is off. I feel like its a clutch bearing that needs replaced. Is there any way to lube it so it doesn't stick or do whatever it's doing? I don't really have the tools to do AC work on it and I'm afraid its going to cause the compressor to go out. Anyone have any insight on this problem. Rest of the car is perfect and it run beautifully, but this noise is really pissing me off. Running the AC with the ttops off so it doesn't make that noise seems ridiculous. I'd rather not take it to a shop and get raped for a grand over it. If there is a related thread just point me to it. Thanks for the help I look forward to reading this page
