how do you remove the crank pulley?

The actually pulley/balancer or the crank hub? The pulley wheel comes off pretty easy, tap it a few times on the sides and back with a rubber mallet and it should pop right off. The hub is a different story, needs a puller. Someone called it a "crows foot" model and you'll use bolts to thread through the three holes in the hub and the slots in the puller. Use a grade 8 bolt in the center to push against and it will slowly pull off.
