Default Crank Pulley

My crankshaft pulley has the three bolts around and one center bolt. I removed the three outer bolts but when I try to loosen the middle, it just turns the motor. Do I need a puller or can this be done somehow else?

if u wish to take the harmonic balancer off u will need a puller. i put a pair of vice grips on the flywheel to stop the crank from turning. make sure the vice grips are set not to harm anything either were its clamped or were it goes up against the trany belhousing. the pully itself should come off the balancer without removing the center bolt.

You don't need a puller to remove the crankshaft pulley. The center bolt shouldn't be retaining it either. Sometimes they are a bit sticky from time, and you might need to either tap a screwdriver between the pulley and the dampener, or give it a whack with a plastic or leather mallet.
