Those of you with HIDs, can you post photos of where you mounted your Balasts at? It seems I keep getting ballast failures (from DDM Tuning) on my RS with them mounted on the back of the metal headlights support bracket (water?!).

I know this is an old thread, but just wondering if anyone has done an HID conversion on the sealed beam headlights? Easy to do?

 

Ive done it. It is pretty easy to do. You just have to use high temp rtv and give it a good amount of time to dry.

 

Pics? Do you use the existing housings? How do the bulbs come out of a sealed beam bulb?

 

Break the old bulbs out of the sealed beams with some channel locks. Silicon the new bulbs in. I did mine too. Easy job. If you have issues or questions, send me a pm.

 

mine are ziptied to the headlight bracket and I haven't had a problem with them at all. Mine are ddm as well

I have one ballast sitting behind one headlight and the other sitting on a metal channel where the fender and front bumper meet on the side. If I remember I'll take pics when I'm home this weekend.
