Heater Hose question

Heater Hose question
So my heater hose started leaking. They just turned 13 yesterday so it's kinda worn out. I guess with the build and taking it apart created a separation in the hose and the connector and now it's leaking. Heater hoses are dealer only parts and they are EXPENSIVE. This site shows a conversion for it http://www.v6fixit.com/ but has anyone tried it? I'm really not sure if I want to spend like $150+ for new hoses when I'm STILL having starter problems. Ugh. I know I can get just the hoses, but it's the connectors that went bad, plus the o-rings were shot too, so there's just an o-ring that kinda fits and a bunch of RTV on there. Any ideas or advice on this?

Here is a hose from Gates. I think these are supposed to replace the engine side of the hose from the clamp to the block. You will prolly have to cut the adaptor out of your factory hose and yea the O-ring will need replacing. I didnt list an O-ring at my store's website.

Yeah, good luck cutting the adapter out of the original hose. I was going to try and use a new hose with the adapter and the way they are pressed together, There was no getting it apart without damaging it. Maybe you get lucky with yours but all I did was destroy mine. I ended up getting a set at a salvage yard for free because the owner said no one ever ask for heater hoses.

im going to second that. i dont think cutting them open and trying to replace just the hose is going to fix it, especially when i already know the fitting itself is a time bomb being that its sealed with rtv.
