Need Wiring Assistance...
So I got a radio for the ol camaro today. But... upon installation... I realized that the wiring diagrams from the Haynes manual doesnt come close to what is actually in the car. I tried just about every possible option to try and get it working, but nothing seemed to do it. I here GM wired their stereos up differently with these bose sound systems, but am not sure how. If you have any words of wisdom, please let me know. Thanks.
I actually figured it out. I forgot that these bose speakers have their own amps in the car somewhere.... so I had to wire the remote power wire to the pink trigger wire that would tell the amps to turn on. otherwise no sound would come out. One I got that pink wire hooked up then everything fell into place.... The other weird thing is that they only used one ground wire for the front two speakers and two positive wires, and in the read, they were all wired through one side of wires... including the sub. Ita crazy wiring.... stock too. ???? But Maybe someday when I get ambitious I will hook up my own subs and an amp and all that fun stuff. I just love this new stereo, connects with my phone. plays movies, just put in an SD card and let er' run. anyways, thanks for the help man.
Yep, everytime I do a radio and speaker system for someone, I disconnect all that cheap factory stuff and run bigger wire. You got it going , so thats great, but later when you can and have a full saturday then replace it all.
