Sorry to hear that. I'm not trying to get in your buiness but I would love to work on and chat about cars with my son. I don't have enough opportunitys to do that. As long as your not getting into trouble or causing prblems then I don't see the problem. Hope things get better.

my dad loves talkin bout cars and trucks(mainly trucks even tho he has a Vette lol), but he hasnt worked on one since carburated motors were common lol. he has no clue about FI or PCs, and he wont touch em, bring in a TPI or older tho, and he can do alot to em. me and my dad are both dodge trucks chevy cars guys.

every thing i did to my car i had to do with my mom(how i got parts so cheap too, she is manager at Advance Auto, and she's a gear head)...

my dad wants to do so much to his vette but he dont trust other people with it, lol.

Yeah.... I love visiting my Grandpa, hes the same way he wont touch a newer engine, but give him a carbbed engine and he will work wonders with it. His 1st car was a nice 40s/50sCammando (Studebaker?) that he bought for a dime (yes a dime, it didnt run picked it up from the dealership my great grandpa worked at) and he had his horse tow it home (yes his horse, they lived in SparkmanArkansas) he dug a hole in the ground, dropped the engine out and pushed the car off the hole andbroughtthe engine into the garage, did a COMPLETE overhaul buying parts by selling his horse by himself and put the engine back in and had it for a nice while, til his friend traded him this rat rod thathit 130mph going from Kelso Washington to Portland... He did all this before he was 18.

Later hebought a 1967Chevelle with 305 badges and rocker stripes, only to find one day when he tried to install spark plugs or something like that that he had a 350! that was badged down to a 305 lol... He smoked cars all day long because they thought he had a dinky 305 when he had a huge 350.

Yeah I took it for another ride and hammered it. My LT1 wouldn't even have to work hard for the win. If I had the money I'd buy him a new car. Maybe when I get my new Camaro I'll give him the one I have now.

Dude, heres what i did. at the age of 16 my parents bought me a run down mustang V6 that ran but had ALOT of cosmetic damage and a rebuild title the engine was ok but the radiator was shot.. they bought it for 2000 and i drove it around til i got tired of going slow. I took up ALOT of hours at work over the summer sold my mustang, and saved up for my Camaro. Now i actually was able to increase my mustangs value with a new paint job, tint, radiator thermo all that stuffand a sound system and gained 2000 more off of it.... So im sure if your son has some time put into his car he could sell it for a Camaro, i kno i was able to and im 18 now.
