Cool Drove the 2010 2LT

I got to drive the GM Dealership District Rep's 2010 2LT Aqua Blue Metallic this Wednesday, and I have to say it is nice, and holds to the road well, even in rain. It was pouring rain...

One significant note, however is that the car is MUCH more fun to drive in manual mode, where you can really get the RPMs up when punching the accelerator. When you punch it in automatic, it does not downshift enough, IMHO, maybe to help gas mileage and save the tranny? Also this could have something to do with StabiliTrak -- is it true it can only be disabled on the 2SS?

Another thing, after sitting in the backseat for a ride, they removed the rear cup holders that were there in the 4th Gen. -- seems like a bone-headed move. So there are only two in the center console...

It was nice to finally drive the new Camaro -- the DI V6 is a blast in manual mode!
(will try to post pics soon)

I drove one on Friday. Comfortable seats, decent interior, sound system seemed to be good. Also, pretty quick for a six. I'd like to drive an SS before I committed to purchase. I'm a little spoiled after driving the wife's '05 Corvette!

Both, drove it on two separate occasions, the second was yesterday alone at a different dealership with the 1LT -- fully independent test drive. ;-)

I hope it runs better than it sounds. I was pumping gas today and heard some car get on it. I thought to myself what redneck is hammering on his mom's ragged out lumina. When I turn to see what it was, I was surprised to see it was a new Camaro. I thought wow that sounded like crap. It sounded like a 3.1 lumina that's ragged out. Not what I expected!!!! I hope the SS sounds better.

of course the SS will sound different, but "better" is a matter of opinion. the 3.6L needs higher rpm to make any power, and it has a very "import like" exhaust tone. when i tested the 2LT RS, I figured that the exhaust tone would be hard for some people to deal with, as its not typically a muscle car sound...but GM has always had odd sounding V6s.
