Default high flow cat and muffler

ok, so im planning on getting a cat since i cant pass emissions without one and i wanna kno how much will my sound change if iget one? also what if i got a new performance muffler like a Flowmaster super 44 or whatever? Basically would i lose alot of the loud rumble i have now with a high flow cat and a performancemuffler. im not worried about horsepower loss as much as i am worried about sound loss. My car is recognized by its sound.... My girlfriend knows im at her house kuz she can hear my car... saving me the trouble of walking to the door to see if shes ready lol. also kids at school recognize my car before i even pull up.. What do youguys think?Flowmaster highflow cat and super 44s?

if you have to go with a high flow cat my first choice would be magnaflow then slp but your lookin at 300+ dollars. as for sound itwill mute it a little but not as much as people wouldnt recognize you. as for the super44's they sound sweet. but i heard it on my uncles 87 monte carlo 355 full exhaust and high lift cam.

I would go either Magnaflow or Random Technology. With a highflow cat you'll still have your low rumble, you may just loose some of the sharpness of the exhaust. I have a friend with a '76 Vette, headers and straight dual exhaust all the way back and I like the sound of my car better because it isn't as sharp, but to each his own.

Her parents must not like you, if you think it's troublesome to walk to the door and get your girlfriend. I'm not sure what's more disrespectful: honking the hornor revving your engine to announce your presence. As for the mufflers, someone said SLP. In myopinion you can save money by keeping your straight pipes, unless you get the LM2s. I've always liked Flowmaster's, and have not heard Magnaflow.

Actually her parents seem to like me.... Thats besides the point... largely beside the point... Im stickin with a Flowmaster high flow cat from Summit is what my mechanic said he could get me, muffler will come down the road if im not happy with what ive got.

That translates into me actually thinking its troublesome? lolI was just joking.. for the most parti go over to her house and chill with her dad, watch some sports, its all goodStan dont worry, mydaddytaught me how to be a gentleman too!I was just trying to stress the point that i dont want to lose my exhaust rumble because its VERY noticeable. Not that i think its troublesome to go to the door, because id do anything for her, going to the door to see if shes ready would be just one of millions of things... but i digress... I just want to keep it loud andZ28 proud!

That's cool. It's Loren, by the way. I made this name when I still had my '02 Mustang GT. It's always good to get in good with the folks. Are you getting this exhaust work before, during, or after you get the rest your stuff fixed?

Yeah, its all good. I met her when she was driving "her" (its kinda her grandpas old car but hes not around ne more) 80Corvette, i has just gotten my Camaro and was cruisin around town when i saw her and i just had to get to know her.. so (as creepy as it may sound) i followed her, introduced myself and then invited to one of our parties (luckily she does to the same High School as my step brothers and she knew them and one of my friends otherwise it woulda been really bad.) So she came over and the next week we started dating basically...

As for my exhaust, im having the mechanic work on my car a weekend at a time. Right now im about to go pick it up after having my cooling system fixed, im pretty sure he got me a new opti and a new water pump while he was at it. Now i need a new induction boot (mine has a hole in it) and the cat which are special order (becuase i dont want OEM ones) so thats another weekend tho.
