First time posting here! Just bought a 96 camaro a few weeks ago, and could use some help.

It looks like there is a hole where these two parts connect. I was wondering if anyone knew what part number this was so I can get it fixed and get the Camaro back on the road! Its causing it to smoke decently with the coolant hitting the engine block.

In the picture its the metal connecting to the line behind where you put the oil in.

If I understand your question right that is one of 2 heater hoses. It should connect to the heater core at the fire wall and run up to the water pump.

 

looks like someone replaced one of the heater hoses. so your talking about the one thats left with metal pipe. where is it leaking, the hose or the pipe? you can replace the hose on the pipe. 4th Gen LT1 F-body Heater Hose R&R or if you feel you can route the hose without it burning replace metal with hose.

I already ordered a new part from v6parts I believe. Was cheaper then getting one from the dealership for $200+.

Is there a way I can fix this problem until my part comes next week? I will only drive the car once with the temp fix. It's a pretty bad leak though, so not sure if there is a way.

You're best bet is get a Haynes manual for reference.

 

bypass the heater core. you run the hose from the water pump to where the other heater hose goes to. on mine it goes back to the water pump with some going to the radiator that goes through the thottle body. not sure how it goes in the v6. just follow both hoses from the heater core/firewall.
