Default Coolant hose question

97 Z28 LT1. One of the smaller hoses coming from the water pump. The bottom one which has a metal coupler about 8-12" from where it connects to the pump. It appears to go almost straight down and then comes up and runs along the passenger fender and turns into a metal line that goes back to rubber where it appears to go to the heater core. If you followed me that far, it has a leak at the metal part just off the water pump. Do I have to replace the whole thing, or is there a kit to splice in instead of replacing all the metal lines? I haven't priced it yet but i bet it is big $$$ and probably a GM only item. It is a slow drip but want it cured before it gets hot out. I just had the water pump replaced a month ago and maybe it got twisted or something and started to drip around the metal coupler. Any guidance would be appreciated.

You can replace the entire line with a section of heater hose, much cheaper than the stock type hose/pipe unit.

Ok thanks. I wasn't sure if the metal coupler looking part actually did anything. I think instead of splicing I will do that, although that line looks like a bear to get away from the inner fender.
