New Coolant Hose
I just came into ownership of 1997 Camaro z28 (100,000 miles), and I noticed that when it was idle the temperature could go up to around 225 F.
So I took it to a garage, and the mechanic informed me that my coolant hose was old and flat and consequently wasn't pushing the adequate amount of coolant into the engine when it was idle.
Now, is this true? I thought i only had to worry about leaks when it comes to the coolant hose.
Also, i live in Florida, and is it possible that 225 F is the normal temperature for an idle Camaro during the summer?
Thanks for your help!

are you talking about the hose that goes between the radiator and the resevoir? that draws coolant back in to keep the level high in the radiator, it also takes it away when it gets hot. if its not working it could be the radiator cap. replacing that hose is no big deal, I think I'd do it myself before paying someone to do it... and yeah, 225 seems pretty high.
