Default hose hose and more hose

ok i have a 97 z28 all of the hoses are just about shot i have had the upper rad hose go as well as both the heater hoses right at the water pump so i was able to just cut a piece off and put it back on i have also had a water pump gasket blow out i want to change all of the hoses my question is i want to change the heater hoses the ones that are mostly metal these look like a real pain in the you know what has any one change these are they as hard as they look id so can i just run rubber heater hose from the pump to the core one has a bleeder screw and the other one comes off the pump and then there is some kind of weird section thats about 3 inches long and is fatter then the rest of the hose it almost looks like one of those steal braided exhaust flex joints just made out of rubber anyone know what that is

Check out this link

If you are going to get the original, you will have to order from dealership or hunt some used ones at a slavage yard or ebay. There is one torx screw that attaches the hoses to the inner fender and it is just a matter of getting the clamps off the heater core.

That link is to show you an option for repairing them unless you want to drop about $180 for the new ones.

Don't be fooled about those clamps that squeeze together being easy to get off and on, especially if they have never been off. But they are easier to get off than to get back on.
