no your not bleeding it correctly. i have never done it and reading it in the book did not help me any. the way i understand it you have to remove the slave cylinder and position it so the air can rise to the master cylinder resivor. then pump the mster cylinder. look for a sticky for it on the site or get a repair/shop manule. hopeing someone that has done it can explain for you.
