car will not start
hello i have a 1994 camaro 3.4 liter auto the car turns over and tries to start but dies when i release the key.i have checked fuel spark and even took off the cat converter just to try.i have fuel and spark and seems like the converter wasnt stopped up.maybe it is a sensor?if i left something out let me know.all help appreciated.
have u had it scanned for trouble codes? could be a crapload of things. cam sensor, crank sensor, ignition control modual, ecm, map. did u check the fuel pressure. check all fuses under the hood and at the fuse box on the side of the dash on the driver side. check the injectors with noid light to make sure they are being told to shoot the fuel. also need have the map checked. if it is not telling the ecm there is air going by the ecm will not send fuel.
stop by or call your local autozone and see if they can scan it for u or maybe loan a scanner. i dont think the blink thing works with the 94. the more i think about it check your ignition switch. see if u are getting juice to the coil when the key is on. it may be its getting power when in the start position and when u let it out of the start to the run position it may be failing. i think its the pink wire.
I just got the cylinder thing at auto zone. it comes with a key but thats only for a guide. i went to the chevy place and ask to get a blank key with the same code as my old one. then i just went to my local hardware store and they cut it for me. but if u know the code for your key you can find some blank ones way cheaper on ebay.
