Camaro auction in my country
#33
ya the auction was in our local currency but I converted it to $
it has been sold for 1000,000 SP ( Syrian Pound)
each 50 SP = 1 $.
ya and the price of the 5th gen brand new is 80,000 $ the V6.
no one know how much it would be if it was v8 no one dares to buy it :-).
my current camaro is one of 9 camaros, 1 of 3 black. ah long story has to do with renting companies and imported cars back in the 90's.
:-)
we have GM dealer but only for chevy imported cars from south Korea.

That is still a lot of money compared to a 5th gen. You can buy a 5th gen for 80K and this 17 year old car with an unknown motor sold for 20K. That is 20% the cost of a new car. Here in the US that 17 year old car in the same situation you would be lucky to get 2-3% the cost of a new one. 5th Gen V6 sell for around 24K you would be lucky to get $500 for the abandon car.
I guess this is nothing new. I remember a friend who shipped over to Germany for 3 years in the Army. At that time if you signed up for a long term you could take one car with you. He took his 1st Gen which at the time was worth about $1800. He came back with the top of the line Mercedes Benz. He said it was an even swap. That car was easily worth 10 times what a Camaro was worth in the late 70s.

in my country Mr, Gorn cars depreciation value never equals to zero.
its not an disposable product. u use it for few decades and scrap it.
the only reason for scrap is when its cost of fixing is more than it's price.
and as u have seen prices are high so this equation rarely to happen :-D
