A/c compressor pulley will not spin to the point the engine won’t crank over any thing I can do to free it up or do I need to buy a new compressor or just the pulley

You may have a combination of a couple things happening. The AC pulley is the clutch for the compressor. It has bearings that could seize, but I would think if that happened, the compressor should still turn as long as it's not damaged. I would take the belt off and try to turn the compressor by hand. That should give you a better idea if the compressor is seized or not.

It won’t spin by hand but the car has sat for awhile I just got it a few weeks ago but we can put the belt on it to get it to turn by pulling on the belt real hard but it will rarely make a full retailing before I gotta switch directions it’s been loosening up but it’s mule work

Yep needs a compressor. Bought mine like that. You can buy a shorter belt as a TEMPORARY fix, or ac bypass pulley. The short belt puts, imo, too much tension on the pulleys.
