Default new compressor or bypass?

95 3.4 V6, car is great, just got it, compressor doesn't work/ burned out(idk really),
i really don't care much for air conditioning in a car(thats just me)
but im wondering, should i get a bypass in place of the compressor, or a new compressor, which would give me better engine performance?

If you don't use the air conditioner, then buying a new compressor would be silly. Taking out all the A/C components would give you better mild if any gains, not due to more power, but since it would be a bit lighter. Only reason to put an A/C delete kit in there is if you are going to get rid of everything. Otherwise, just leave it in there. Is it giving you problems even without the A/C on?

nah everything seems to be fine, when i first got it, if i turned on the AC, the compressor smelled like it was burning after a couple minutes, but with the AC off, doesn't the compressor have any resistance? i was thinking a bypass would create the least amount of resistance, thus making the engine do less work

With A/C off, the pulley spins freely. Yes, if you were to bypass the pulley, the engine would have less to do. Though the benefits would be minimal.

check your freeon level, and if its empty add some with a recharge kit, that could be why its not working, if youd like, a new compressor is ~$200 and can be put on by you. i did mine in my shop all you need is a jack and a few sockets, a ratchet, and a recharge kit. oh and some paitence.

I guess you didn't read the part where he said he doesn't much care for the A/C...

If you find it to be an easy fix, even if you don't like it, try to keep the ac. I didn't want ac in my other car, until I had to drive in 105 degree weather. I got a replacement pump from a wrecking yard for $40 for my bonneville I used to have. It worked just fine. No need to buy a new one, especially if you don't plan on using it often.
