i have a 93 z28, andi am flashing a code 26 and it is becouse my air pump is shorting out. I was wondering if i can bypass the air pump? i would like to have every thing done and no ses light on. if you can help that would be grate. thanks

 

The pump does nothing except for a few minutes after the engine starts. Its purpose is to light up the cat faster. If you remove the pump the cat won't last as long as it should. To kill the SES lite, the PCM has to be reprogrammed to delete the AIR pump.

 

i dont think you can do that to a 93 ecm or can you i am going to take out the cat and put a test pipe in

 

It will be simpler & cheape if you just fixed the pump.

$200 for a pump that is crazy does any one know where i can find a cheep air/smog pump
