Default 94 z28 with aftermarket Alarm system

First of all, Just bought the car, practically stole it. Paint is near perfect, interior is perfect, great running car.

It is a 94 z28. The first thing I noticed was a red LED light by the light switch. Next I noticed a little module on the dash. Then I noticed a little button under the dash.. So I took the cover off and noticed a huge mess of wires. It is an Apache 600 car alarm system. (Seems like a pretty S#$T wiring job IMHO)

I was wondering if there was any information that could be provided on this system? Like what is the button for? It turns the LED on and off but does not seem to affect the alarm system at all. Is it possible to get a new remote? etc.

Also.. side note.. the 94 with the Bose system only came with 3 speakers- two in the front and a sub in the back. WHY?? any recommendations on a set of 4 speakers and a sub for the back to replace the on that cant even be heard?

Green car is the one in question

Being that the car came with a factory dis-abler system (VATS) an add on alarm seems like an unnecessary complication, especially considering that practically nobody pays any attention to car alarms.
The three Bose speakers on your car are integrated with individual amplifiers, and are fed from the radio pre-amp via very low power through shielded wires, so if you plan to go to "normal" speakers you will need to get a different type radio, and replace the shielded wires with something that can handle more power. As far as I know this set up was only used in the 94 model year. Had those in my old Camaro but never paid much attention as I liked the sound of the engine more. lol

My 93 came with the 3 speaker set up. Not sure how well it worked since I yanked it out before I even ever tested it.

The button for the alarm system may be a disabler of sorts. They make systems where you can press a button or flip a switch and it'll prevent the car from starting and most thieves aren't the wiser. Could look up the alarm system model and see if any info is presented on it.

Car looks nice and clean.

That button is how you stop the alarm horn from blaring without a remote. Of course, put in such plain view, a car thief could just as easily do the same thing. Surprised the install jeenyus didn't put a sign near it saying "disarm here".

Yeah, button disables the alarm. Thank God. Lol & I went ahead and tore into the radio and speakers, got rid of the converter to allow for the amps to work. Ran new wires for four speakers and a sub. Still confused on who thought it would be a good idea to only put 3 speakers in a car. Oh well lol. Thanks ya'll
