Default No power steering pump on a 350, will any one work??!!

hey everyone i just got another 3rd gen cammy, and this ones an 84 z-28, the engines awesome, the guy i got it from, got it on a trade, and he didnt know much about the engine, but its a 350 bored 30 over, its got headers dual hooker exaust, edelbrock performer intake, ya know all the good stuff, but this engine wasnt original with the car and it doesnt have a power steering pump, so therefore no power steering at all, the see the mounting holes but i dont know if any one for a carbed 350 would work.

Also how do i tell what this engine is from and what year it is, where is the number and where do i look it up to find out all of this, thanks alot for any responses, jason

They all work, but the question is will they fit. Try to get one for your model & year car. Don't forget, you will also have to change the steering gear.

Manual steering and power steering have different steering mechanisms. If the car has a power steering box, then no changes are needed. However, he said he had no power steering at all, which to me meant manual steering.I guess he will figure it out.

well since he has an 84 he should have power steering. Does the box have two places to thread in lines? Maybe a hose on it looped or plugs.

If you have the bracket just buy a pump for a 84 Z28. The pumps are the same. The tanks are different. On your application it would mostly be due to where the return line points to. And does it have the original V belts or a later serpintine. And Usualy when you get a pump they will come with a long bolt, washers and nut to press the pully on with
