Default 700r4 Corvette servo + Shift kit?

Hello again, Im i the middle of my 700r4 rebuild and Im not sure what route to take on whether or not to put a shift kit in with a vette servo. I want the car to shift faster and firmer but i also dont want it to jerk into every gear even during granny driving. The shift kit i was looking at is the transgo jr. It would be ideal if it could chirp the tires at WOT but shift smoother at low speeds. Any info would be great, thanks.

Its not so much a shift kit that'll make your tires chirp on the 1-2, its the amount of torque being put down. Stock type setup will be best if you are running a stock type motor.

Well the 305 spun a bearing and is out of the car now. Im getting a 350 for free from a friend soon so thats gonna be mated to the 700 im building. Im just gonna put a mild cam and either bore out the 305 heads for larger valves, or get a set of vortec heads.

If the 1-2 shift is a soft slide bump shift could keep your tires from breaking loose. Anyway, a corvette servo will give a better shift between 1-2, and I believe it will not allow the transmission to down shift at highway speeds. I think the servo would be a good idea.

The restricted intake runners on the 305 heads make them better paper weights than anything, and will choke the 350 even worse. Vortec heads would be a better choice.
My 700R4 has a Corvette servo...coincidentally it's in my Vette. The trans will downshift at highway speeds, and the up-shifts are crisper as compared to how my old 91 Camaro would just glide into gear.

I've been called an "A" before, so get in line and take a number! And yes, I do like corvettes. Been thinking about getting one.
