Tranny help
Lets see if i can explain this right, i have a 86 iroc z that was tpi with 700r4 well i turned it into carb with a older 350 motor bored 30 over and has a bigger cam in it, so now the question I had to put a stall convertor with my 700r4 and the 700r4 is rebuilt, but still it does what seems like a long shift and when it finally does shift it feels jerky, any ideas?
the cheap and easy fix is bump up the line pressure.
Otherwise, what was done when it was "rebuilt"? Maybe look into an aftermarket valve body, it will help yours shifts greatly

Make sure the TV cable is hooked up, unless the trans was modified to run without it. If you still have the cable, then your issue may be with the differences in linkage geometry between how it was with the TB, and how it is now with the carb. Having the cable operate right is more than how it's pulled out at WOT, where it moves at partial throttle is critical as well. You can't just stick the cable on the carb linkage and call it good. What would bumping up line pressure do?
Can you give any info on how to go bout adjusting cable? I bought a bracket that is made for the carb and tranny and it has the throttle spot hook up and the cable that runs to tranny.
