I just went on the transgo page and am not quite sure what parts and peices you plan on buying. Can you post the link? Referring back to your last post, why do you think that its your trans that is the limiting factor in your car? How can you tell that its getting tired?

Its not getting tired its just not designed for that much horse power and tourqe , the race kit allows the power to run through the trans , well at least I think that's how my buddie put it, he is a funny car drag racer in grand bend ontario and also owns a 84 trans am that's all done up so when he says something I believe him, just wanting to know if any one else has done this ?

I got my 4L80 from those guys too havent used it yet so i cant say much. As for building the trans yourself, you can buy all the individual parts and peices from them and build it yourself. Its probably not going to be very cost effective.

Good luck with the home rebuild, i would be extremely careful when you go to rebuild it and take lots of pictures. Theres one or two parts inside there!

there are several special tools required, and the knowlege to use them correctly is paramount.i advise you have your trans done by a trustworthy professional,it can save you money as well as a fair amount of heartache.good luck
