1986 Camaro Transmission Questions
I'm not sure that this is actually a question relavent to the 1986 camaro. The motor has been replaced with a 355 small block engine and has a 350 turbo transmission bolted to it. I have been battling a leak up around the snout part of the Torque Converter. I noticed a pretty good sized gap (like three washers worth) between the flywheel and the TC in one spot but the other two connectiong bolt spots you could barely fit one washer.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I this a bent flywheel?
On another topic, what torque converter and transmission combinations would bolt up to the chevy small block and fit in this car?
I know those are some pretty open ended questions so I apologize for that but any thoughts or further claryfiying questions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks In Advance Everyone! I always appreciate the time that people take to help on these forums!!

Howdy and welcome to the forums.
Is the fluid leaking out trans or engine oil? If you where to unbolt the TC from the flywheel, Can you slide the TC forward any more?
If you can, Could you also check to insure that the trans is bolted flush to the engine? I've seen where the alignment pins have had burs on them and the trans did not meet all the way up to the engine.

There is a chance the TC was not installed correctly and there is a seal leaking. When I've installed TC's, I usually fill them as full as I can..maybe a quart before it will make a mess, then I installed it over the shaft then making sure I've got some room, I turn the flexplate (spark plugs removed) to align the bolt holes. I then pull back slightly by hand so I am not drawing it at an angle with the bolts.
As far as the flexplate being bent, I would say that you would possible feel that in the form of a vibration...,so doubtful.
SBC's can accept the TH350 TH400 700R4 (4l60) 200R 2sp powerglides...there are more too.
