Points? GM stopped using point across the board in 75 with some Z28's get the famous HEI ignition in 74. This is a 84 so point were gone a decade before this car was built

305 heads may give you better compression but they flow like crap. Besides the last thing you want in a super charged engine is higher compression.
T.I.G. was assuming the guy was talking about points ignition by the mention of using a dwell meter.
This guy has (so he says) a 305 H.O., and these are very great heads to use, for a non-supercharged engine. Yes, c.r. would be a bit too high for use with a blower.
305 TBI heads are the ones that flow like crap, not the HO heads.

It will.also have a mild cam upgrade, an electric water pump, twin cooling fans, NO SUPER CHARGER, an emission friendly high rise intake, then the stand alone fuel injection system, and a good msd set up. ALL.COLORADO EMISSIONS cares about is the air pump, air injection tubes, egr, o2 sensor, cat, and no chk engine light.

now you should go to projects an post your project pictures pictures ,I want to see how this turns out , when it happens you know what your going to do ,an sometimes one needs to talk things out to figure out what they are going to do ,I want to see it should be nice for the street a full dress engine can be had for like under 3k.? are your just going with a long block ,I would go crate engine ,all these builds have tence moments ,mine did so its just part of a build,i would also make sure you get a new cooling system to I got an aluminum radiator from champion has become big for value an well made a 2 core is like 125,00 ebay a 3 core a bit more Asi is another one for 1984 Camaro one can pay so much more ,that was the thing I wanted to make sure mine was for a 95 Camaro for fitment ,so like in the end only thing was lt1 was the radiator headers an motor mounts ,stand alone injection cost a lot more then a 350.00 performer carb from edlebrock ,an gives funds to other things new engine new cooling system ,I would also go serpentine set up,one loses about 10 to 15% hp with old belt set ups

How true. The engine I'm looking at getting is a gmpp crate 350 long block bored 30 over, crane comp cams, roller rockers, EddleBrock high rise intake with egr port. gmpp stand alone fuel injection system and msd ignition. EddleBrock 2 3/4 in tubed headers with the air injection tubes. the original exaust after the hedders, o2 sensor and single cat. twin cooling fans and electric water pump. Should work out pretty good. how do I move this thread to the projects page you were talking about? I'm not familiar with the navigation on this site.

after emissions and 5 year plates I won't have to get another emissions chk for those 5 years. so I will be re-installing the 3in set up I currently have after the e- test.

you got it

Like I said, I tossed my dwell meter quite a while ago as points are from a bygone era and the mechanical adjustment went away with them.
