Default Will a turbo 400 transmission work

I have a 92 Z28. I wanted to put in a 406 but i'm just going to use a built 350. I have the 700R4 transmission right now, but I heard it won't handle alot of power. Plus It's acting like a normal 700R4, floor it and you don't go much faster. I am wondering if a turbo 400 will work in this car and what I would have to change to make it work.

theres high performance 700r4's that you can buy and directly swap. but theyre expensive ( like 700+) you can put a 400 turbo in there but your going to have to modify the car to get it to fit.

The 700 is good for 350 HP and TQ. And that is a conservative number. If you go with a 400 you will have to install a torque arm mount , lenghten the drive shafy and modify the cross member. and you loose the low first gear and over drive. The 700 can be rebuilt and made to handle more ponies

i have been told that the th400's are pretty strong as they are. i had to have a custom drive shaft, b&m make a kit for it to fit in comes with the tourqe arm mount and the trans mount brackets. so all said and done it cost me about 400 bucks!
