Default will stock valve springs work??

For the ongoing Vortec swap......I plan on putting a .465 lift cam in her. (its about as high as i can go with stock components) A friend of mine said that because of the cam, the OEM valve springs wont have enough seating pressure?????

The springs have 55,000 miles on them and I dont want to replace them if I dont need to. Im already about a jazilion bucks overbudget.

You see what a set of good headgaskets go for??? Cheeeeeerist!

they physicly will work, but a higher seating pressure will keep the valves from floating and possibly hitting the piston. you would only need the next spring rate up from stock. and a good set of head gaskets shouldnt be more than $50.

i bet you are wishing you did more research before you pulled your motor apart?
