Starting engine after sitting 10 years
I Have recently acquired a kit car (heritage ‘34 Mercedes 500 k ) that has a 1990 camaro 350 crate engine in it. It only has 5k miles on it ,but, it has been sitting for 10 years. I’m in the the process of removing/ cleaning the gas tank. Before I throw a new battery in it and fresh gas my question is..,…is there anything I should do before I try to start ? I’m concerned that there will be no lubricant in the engine when I try to start it. Recommendations welcome. Thanks

10 years is not that long.
Change oil and filter, fill the filter. Disable the ignition. Cranks it over until you have pressure. Unless rust has gotten in the motor starter cranking speeds will cause very little wear even if the motor is dry.
If you want to be really careful you could pull the distributer and install primer tool and use a drill to prime the oil. IMO that is overkill. Search yourtube for "SBC priming oil pressure" for details. below is the tool. make sure you understand removing and installing a distributer before you pull it.
