Ok 87Iroc. Starting from the beginning.

1. Was the car running when you said it turned off? Or, it wouldn't start to begin with?

2. If the car was running when it failed, did it run bad? Or rough?

3. When you said two big sparks came out of the starter, did you actually see them coming out of the starter? or do you mean the engine tried to fire two spark plugs?

4. If you did in fact see the starter somehow spark, I would say you killed the motor by shorting it. I honestly don't know what would happen. I'm no expert.

it seems a few needs a manual. lol. somewere on this site you can find a wiring diagram to make sure you didnt re wire the starter wrong. though your only running 12 volts, a loose connection will throw a wild spark. have you ever stuck your finger in the cigarett lighter when you were little?there are only like what, 2 or three wires there? and they should be self explaining unless someone took the connectors off

If the car isnt turning over at all and your starter isnt at least clicking I would start with your engine fuse then I would check and make sure your wires are tight on your starter. sometimes its the simplest things that are wrong. also when you say it isnt sparking do you mean it isnt turning over or did you actually pull your spark plug lay it on the engine and see if it was getting a spark? I dont think there is enough info on exactly what issue you are having.
