Default no spark!

hi i am new to this forum, but i recently swapped out my 3.1L V6 for a 305. I have TPI on it, and its speed density, has a cam, and msd ignition, headers, and thats about all. it has been running fine, i had a ignition control module go out on me awhile back but i put a new one in and it ran fine. now it wont start, i have no spark, and just earlier today i did have spark and when you turn the distributor the fuel pump would prime, and if it did start it would only stay on for 3 seconds or so. so right now im trying to figure out why i dont have spark, is there anyway to test the ICM, and what would make it burn out so easily and quickly?

did you put the dilectric grease under the module? are both plugs fully inserted into the module, is your coil good?

not trying to make you sound like an idiot, but those questions could help determine if its a part problem or wiring problem

im going to bet the igniton module got too hot and fried so that its semi intermitant, i picked up a bunch of modules from a junk yard a long time ago and kept swapping them to see if it fixed a problem i had, after i found one that worked i went and bought a new one from the autopart store and have not had a problem since

another possiblitly is your ECM, mine went bad on me, cost $70 for a new one after the core is returned
